GS: Quality of Life

v13 and v14. Premium

Right-click a token to open its controls in one menu.

While Foundry VTT offers so many great and wonderful features, it can sometimes be a little difficult to navigate the various UIs and menus. We aimed to solve this problem by creating a simple and intuitive right-click menu. The menu can be customised to limit what options are available and seamlessly integrates features added by other modules as well! More QoL features will be added in the future. The header

The header shows elevation, armour class and heroic inspiration.

Type a number into the elevation field to set the token's height. Typing 10 puts the token at 10, whatever its height was before. Negative heights are allowed.

The GM and the token's owner see its armour class. Where the system has heroic inspiration, the star button grants or spends it.

Hit points

A bar shows the token's hit points, with a field and up to five buttons to change them.

The bar shows current hit points out of the maximum. Like the token bar, it shows temporary hit points and a raised or reduced maximum. Players see it on tokens they own. The GM sees it on every token.

Type an amount, then press a button to apply damage, healing or temporary hit points. Two more buttons raise or reduce the maximum. The temporary hit point and maximum buttons appear where the system has them.

Press Enter to use the field without a button. Typing 25 sets the hit points to 25. A sign adjusts them: +5 heals 5 and -5 harms 5. A formula such as 2d6 is rolled and posted to chat before the hit points change. The chat message names the token it harms or heals.

Damage and healing follow the same rules as the token bar. On D&D 5e, damage comes off temporary hit points first. Healing stops at the maximum.

The toggles

Five buttons change the token or open its settings.

The buttons apply invisibility, hide the token, move it to the front or back, lock it and open its settings. Press the invisibility, hide or lock button again to undo it. Each button's icon and tooltip show the token's current state. Hide and lock are for the GM.

Right-click a token that is part of a selection and the buttons change every selected token. They all end up in the same state as the token you clicked.

The actions

Each row acts on the token or opens a submenu.

Rows open the token's sheet, target it and add it to combat. The Target row changes to Untarget on a targeted token. Enter combat changes to Leave combat once the token is in combat. Other modules add rows too, such as Inspect and Spectate.

Three rows have an arrow and open a submenu: status effects, movement type and disposition. Disposition is for the GM. Choose one of those rows on the menu to see its submenu.

Buttons that other modules add to the token HUD appear here too. The menu opens the token HUD out of sight and lists those buttons as rows. Pressing a row presses the button on the HUD.

In the Token menu options window, the GM can hide any row or change its icon.

Status effects

The submenu lists the system's conditions by name, with a search box.

Type to filter the list: prn finds Prone. Enter applies the top match. Click a condition once to apply it and again to remove it. Conditions on the token are listed first.

On D&D 5e, a condition with levels, such as exhaustion, goes up one level per click. Right-click takes it down one level.

Clear all removes every condition from the token. It asks first when more than two would be removed.

Movement type

The submenu sets how the token moves.

Choose walk, fly, swim, burrow, crawl, climb, jump or teleport. The current type is ticked. The choice is saved on the token. The ruler then measures its moves at the cost the system sets for that type.

Default clears the token's choice. The token then uses the default type shown beside it, such as Walk.

Disposition

The GM sets the token to friendly, neutral, hostile or secret.

The submenu lists Foundry VTT's four dispositions and ticks the current one. One click sets the disposition and closes the menu. With several tokens selected, they all take the one you click.

Secret hides the token's disposition from the players.
